  1. Commute to work safely by private vehicle. If using public transport is unavoidable, pay extra attention to hygiene by avoiding touching handrails, poles, or handles on public transport, and maintaining a distance of at least 1-2 meters from others. 6. Schedule window openings during the day for ventilation. 7. If meetings are needed, try to use online communication more often and avoid group gatherings. 8. Strictly cooperate at screening points; hand sanitizer is available at various locations. 9. Use signs or reminders to stay vigilant, such as message mats placed throughout the office. Most people look at the floor, making it an effective communication area that doesn't obstruct walkways.

Regularly monitor for any unusual symptoms and check your temperature. This will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 to others. If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or any other symptoms indicative of COVID-19 infection, inform your workplace so you can rest at home. If you experience other unusual symptoms such as chest tightness, difficulty breathing, or changes in skin color, seek medical attention immediately.

How to: work at the office confidently and be safe from COVID-19

A lot of people have to adjust themselves to new working routines, such as working from home, during COVID-19 time. However, there are some who still commute and work at the office every day. Those people are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 from commuting to/from work and during working time. It's vital to take a good care of yourself and be safe from COVID-19.

  1. Ensure your safety by driving to work by car. In case you can't avoid public transportation, you must be vigilant: avoid handles, poles or bars on any public transportation as much as possible, also keep social distancing of 1-2 meters and clean your hands before and after travelling.
  2. Maintain your personal hygiene. Check your hygienic supplies before leaving your home -especially a mask and alcohol gel are MUST! Both personal and social hygiene are equally essential. Make sure you keep social distancing and wash your hands regularly. Be mindful of what object you contact with.
  3. Always wear a mask and avoid sharing meals with others- safety first.
  4. Rearrange your workstation in your office to provide more space, for example, place all workstations in “zigzag” pattern, divide some amount of workstation to different room and temporarily improve some areas for work purposes.
  5. Clean all office supplies. The shared items are likely to be contaminated, such as door knobs or handles, tables and chairs in canteen or in conference room. Therefore, a regular cleaning is required.
  6. Open the windows in your office during the day for ventilation.
  7. Arrange more teleconferencing or online meetings. Avoid grouping.
  8. Strictly cooperate at the screening point where disinfection gel must be available.
  9. Use some type of signs as a reminder to help promote self-awareness, for example, place a mat with a reminder message in different areas in the office. Most people usually look downwards or look at the objects which are in a low position. Therefore, the floor is an area that can be used for effective communication. A mat also doesn't block any walkway.

Keep an eye out for any abnormalities and regularly check your temperature. These can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you experience the following symptoms: high temperature, coughing, difficulty in breathing or any other symptoms that may be associated with COVID-19 infection, you should notify your employer and request for a leave so that you can rest at home. If you experience chest pain, an extreme difficulty in breathing or skin discoloration, please seek a doctor immediately.
